The only way to fix it is single payer. Sure, you can still have private supplemental services, but everyone should have access to free-at-the-point-of-service preventative, corrective intervention, and everyday life healthcare, including support for birth, dental, vision, and hearing aids.

Affordable housing, transportation, and childcare are not progressive. They are working class ideas that appeal across ideologies. The media has either not caught on after 10 years OR they know exactly why its appealing and are running propaganda for business daddy. There's only those two options.
