What has the VAT on independent school fees, lunches, music lessons and 1t1 learning support lessons gone towards please?

The worst thing about that station having been a student in the 90s is that if you need to get anywhere on foot, it’s generally up a steep incline!!

The whole air of this “discussion” is rather unsavoury. The whole Brexit fallout has reduced intelligent people to pettiness that is unbecoming of their status. Living in UK as someone who wishes to be back in the EU is fairly depressing, especially as one who sees no hope for improvement

No. I think in almost all cases they have decided life, their work, businesses etc will be better and cheaper if they move. It’s a UK cost of living as opposed to just the single fee issue. Plus there are a phenomenal amount of British run schools overseas now especially in the UAE

As an insider, my current experience is that parents are not moving children due to fee increases in general. Yes there are some, however. Bigger issue is the amount of families moving abroad, especially to UAE or Europe if they have an EU passport. Also, falling birth rate is a huge concern!!

Spent the last five days in London. At no point have I felt unsafe or concerned about any concealed weapons. Yes there are some interesting people about but it’s a lovely melting pot of cultures, races, styles, eccentricities. Reform are a bunch of gaslighting, irresponsible arseholes.

100% the latter. British sloppiness and in lots of cases utter contempt at having to learn another language or have the basic decency to address people correctly!!

In my 26 years of language teaching experience, any non-traditional English name can cause meltdown even amongst ‘educated’ people. Jorge and the lack of understanding of the ñ were my particular annoyances!! It’s an utter ‘village’ mentality!!!

Also, make up, fake tan, hair dye. JD looks like he wears eyeliner!!
