If they project the sense that they’re actually fulfilling that promise it’d be a slam dunk. That’s a massive ask though, requiring overcoming the entire core messaging of the right.

I’m not sure it was ethical to uncritically repost the community quotes that veered into moral-panic nimbyism, though.

The big takeaway seems like they messed up the permitting process, which seems to be a common tactic leveraged against these types of businesses.

After reading the article, it looks like they’re trying to delay the process until after the CA state-mandated new housing initiative announces its plans in 2029, because it could override any of Santa Monica’s local plans for the airport land.

The indigenous segment felt like a necessary touch of world-building to add a more complex history and knowledge of supernatural threats - specifically among a culture deeply terrorized by colonists.

Do y’all have staff to follow up on this kind of stuff? As in, were these teens? How many bystanders were endangered throughout the chase? Was there property damage? Truly wild.

It plays as if they can’t zipper down the edge cases that prevent it from being ready for prime time. Maybe 99.9% of interactions work flawlessly, but if 0.1% are dangerously incorrect then Apple can’t release it.
