Wanted to watch Max Meyer pitch against the Pirates. But because I live in Columbus, Ohio I can’t watch it on MLB TV because Columbus is somehow in freaking Pittsburgh’s home market.

Conference coaches have shared the Big Ten Tournament will be a 12-team affair in the format of the former ACC Tournament, now the Big Ten Network schedule confirms the day-by-day of the week in Omaha.

Seems there been a shift over the last decade in prospecting college second basemen. When I first started covering baseball the prospects of a true 2B were dim. Meant you couldn’t field at a high enough level, bc if so you’d be a SS, and you likely didn’t have the bat to move to the OF. Now not so.

I know football drives TV rights, but I think it’s quite the feat for the Big Ten to have basketball games on CBS, FOX and NBC simultaneously.

With Oregon, Nebraska and Indiana all ranked, I wondered if there were teams that had all three on their conference schedule. First school I looked at was Iowa, and yep, the Hawkeyes do, and to boot their bye week is vs. Oregon State. Sheesh.

Can’t believe it’s already been 10 years since Jay went sixth overall out of Illinois.
The 2015 Big Ten Tournament at Target Field, which had Maryland in its first B1G season and future big leaguers Lowe and Wade, was as packaged with scouts as any scene I’ve seen in the north.

Not surprisingly, but still a bit of a bummer, with the Big Ten moving to a 30-game conference slate from 24, the number of weekend series vs. Power Conference opponents has noticeably dropped. It would be next to nil if not including Oregon State & Washington St.
