Thank you Kenilworth Books for a great Saturday Signing. Good company, great conversations, and books into readers' hands. Couldn't ask for more!
And grateful thanks to Debbie from KB for such help and concern after my mishap, locking my keys in the car. AA and a locksmith soon had us on our way

Those number gods have been at it again - Just putting the finishing touches to my o/l groceries delivery. Deleted a few items, added some for Mrs's Christmas cake mix, and it comes to £95.96. Stop right there! Don't add or delete another thing! Perfect!😄

After several days of struggle, I now have a basic website and o/l store chrismlburleigh.co.uk . It should be easy, but Wordpress (and all the others) make it a serendipitous journey of trial and error, till you finally work out what works and which buttons to click. Nothing logical or methodical. 😀

I ask Mrs not to play that Glenn Miller number on her sax. I told her I wasn't in the mood.😀

What's the sad news? My town has loads of St George's flags all flying at half-mast on lamp posts?!😀

I'm just off to Sainsbury's (O/L) before University Challenge at 8.30. Or maybe it's Amol Rajan challenge since I'm guessing he sets all the cricket/philosophy/80s music questions.
It's more than time the Beeb killed off the whole notion of the cult of the personality, the TV celeb.

With 18mth old grandson today, He's just beginning to say words you can make out. One of them is 'cheers' as he proffers his Tommy Tippee. Such pedigree!

so that God of small numbers has been at it again. Online groceries shop - 'good news, we have picked everything' and the resulting price, £86.86!
You try it, see if you can do that!

Just back from short break to Rye. It's an amazingly pretty little town with masses of cultural outlets and events. On a trip over to Winchelsea, found this in the churchyard. Well, Spike and I, we're kind of kindred spirits!

Anybody prepared to go through BS age verification so they can still use DM? I'm not sure I want to submit details to any 3rd party verifying org. I can see why the gov. legislated for porn/violence, but this seems like an unintended consequence.

Today is pub day for 2nd ed of my first collection, Particles of Light! A lot of work using the clunky Adobe editor but I've removed inappropriate wit, and massively corrected the formatting. Good result!

Great day at Oxford Indie Book Fair yesterday. Good conversations and books sold. Thanks to the 'team'!
July 14, 2025 at 2:19 PM
Looking forward to being at the Oxford Indie bookfair tomorrow. If you're in the area, it'll be a great way to stay out of some of the heat!
I'm reading for 5 mins from 14.09 (yes, that precise!)

Oh dear, what a shame, I seem to be locked out of the other place - probably because I haven't posted there for too long. It's always interesting to see what others are posting, but other than that, I won't miss it. And my life certainly doesn't depend on it!

Trying to edit a PDF document - it's so excruciatingly painful! What an agonisingly primitive tool! I have the original PDF file so I thought it would be a simple job to just make a few changes...🥹

Scrolling though my o/l groceries order, seeing what else to add. Spotted sultanas, added them, then glanced at the new total - £73.73. Knew it was time to stop. There's definitely a God of Good Numbers!

I suppose it was inevitable all the ppl who just want to say nasty things about ppl they don't agree with, would turn up here sooner or later. Shame it's been so soon. You'd think X would be space enough for them, and they could leave BS for ppl who just want to exchange pleasantries. 😢

Well Will, from one poet to another - Happy Birthday!
And it should also be Happy St George's Day, but this year it's been changed to 28th, because, apparently. you can't have saints' days in Easter Week.

Dropping in very little and posting even less. Yesterday, on day out at NT property in Cambs, ran into some old friends from where we used to live in W Mids until 3 years ago. Not just at the same place at the same time, but same point at same minute! How does that happen?! Definitely spooky.😄

O/L groceries shop. Stopped at £73.83. Such a perfect number. must be right. Then remembered a few more items. Ok, it comes to £77.33. Still not bad!😊
