There’s a calculation to be made that trends time taken towards accuracy. You could offer that as an option. Immediacy gives +-50% accuracy. 1 week gives +-10% and everything else in between.

"Pigs Trotter", right. Looks like something else.

Well, I guess as it's digital, there's more flexibility to change the images dynamically. The EU could sell NFTs for images to be on the currency. Alternatively, it could be changed to reflect current sentiment of who's in favour and who's not.

One other thought - could the EU be looking to develop "digital wallets" to store Euros, where cash goes into a smartphone app and is transacted point-to-point directly, without going through a bank system? Now that might be interesting, but I thought we already had versions of that. (5/5)

In one respect I get that. The increased unpredictable nature of the US government means sovereignty in all areas is becoming a critical strategy. But to call this a digital Euro is to hide the truth - the desire to sidestep US dependence in yet another area of modern commerce. (4/5)

So, is this statement by the EU really about finding an alternative base currency to the dollar and building a SWIFT alternative? It feels like Europe saying "we're big enough to move away from Visa/MasterCard and the SWIFT mechanism for anything in our home currency". (3/5)

I rarely use physical notes, taking cash out of an ATM perhaps 2-3 times a year. I was also probably last in my group of friends to use credit/debit cards in the pub, but even that's common practice, with paper cash rarely seen. (2/5)

Yeah, that would be much more useful. In the UK there are several apps that provide the details and also manage the payment process.

Probably the best song for me (zombie zoo). It s just so random but almost like a pop song.

We also need to consider the cost. Doing a second degree at £10K per year minimum is probably not sustainable for most. How do we make lifelong learning affordable?

I was once in a meeting where someone genuinely wrote “forward planning” on the whiteboard and got to the first N in planning before realising the phrase wouldn’t fit on one line….
