You’ve heard my four-year-old Noah’s favorite songs throughout the year and now I’m sharing some of mine. I’ve collected fifty-one of my favorite albums from 2025.

Most of these records are a bit louder than my little boy’s car ride tunes but they’ve brought me joy.

The thick plastic of my right hand brace has started to crack. Like clockwork, the resting hand splint I wear at night sprouted a fissure after a year. The snap has happened almost annually since I was a little boy.

The yearly split is a reminder to listen to my body.

My wife Lisa DiCarlucci wrote a beautiful guest essay this week. It’s a love letter to working parents and the piece captures how she tries to find balance juggling caregiving and her career.

I'm sharing a wonderful interview I did with Nancy Reddy for her Good Creatures series which explores the intersection of caregiving and creative practice. I talked about navigating parenthood as a disabled person and how my writing schedule has shifted with Noah starting pre-kindergarten.

“People talk about trying to change society,” a young Bob Dylan said, in 1964. “All I know is that so long as people stay so concerned about protecting their status and protecting what they have, ain’t nothing going to be done.”

In 2012, I was doing an on-the-street interview where I was asking anyone who'd stop about the state of the economy.

One of those interviewees was my wife Lisa but we didn't know that I had interviewed her until years later.

In 2012, I was working for my local newspaper and doing an on-the-street interview series with a fellow journalist, asking current event questions to anyone who’d stop.

I would marry one of those interviewees years later. I didn’t know her yet.

Summer is nearly over. There were town pool trips, ice cream sprinkles stuck in every crevice of the stroller and a couple new pairs of sneakers since Noah is sprouting.

We’re leaving behind the splash pad for a school building and packing up swimsuits.

The school supplies list was short. I mean, Noah is only entering pre-kindergarten. There was a backpack on it though. Well, that’s at least that’s covered already. Check.
