Bird ringer/bander/trainer, Iceni Bird Monitoring Group, Norfolk. Birder, but increasingly into Butterflies and Odonata, especially recording, dabble at photography - mainly of the latter.

A slight detour on route home from Reading on Monday to Dunwich Heath to take a look at the Turkestan Shrike, in what was a very pleasant bright warm day. Dartford's also seen, a Clouded Yellow and several Common Darters.

North Point Pools, Wells, Willow Emerald, and Wall Brown. Walls are having a very good second brood this year with many around in the late summer heat.

At the end of the Nightjar season we are very proud to have completed the first year in collaboration with Natural England facilitating the study of feeding areas away from the breeding site. 20 birds ringed of which 14 were pulli, 6 GPS tags fitted with 5 retrieved, which obtaining some good data.

Yesterday, as well as the usual CR waders, a few Mediterranean Gull, one or two Sandwich Terns, including J0070 ringed at Gdansk in 2023

Lesser White-fronted Geese Wild Ken Hill - 16 Feb, through the efforts of local birders all 7 colour-ringed birds of the Ken Hill flock of 24 (last identified on 16th), and the 3 of the 9 at Warham Camp now identified and reported to the project scheme. @btobirds.bsky.social @norfolknats.bsky.social
