Excited to try this tea my wife got me while we were in Seattle at @seattle2025worldcon. I love drinking tea while revising my #wip. What tea is your favorite? #writesky #amwritingsciencefiction

My first WorldCon went great! My panel went well, someone attended my table talk, and I learned a lot. @seattlein2025.org

We still have two days left and @seattlein2025.org has been the most productive convention I’ve attended. I’ve learned so much about different pathways to #writing. #WriteSky

I write at coffee shops all the time. They are some of my favorite places to write!
This week on Planetside… Writing at home? Too distracting. @stevehorton.bsky.social makes the case for coffee shops as the ultimate creative refuge. Read “Ink Stains on Fingers and the Smell of Coffee” at www.sfwa.org/2025/08/05/i.... Part of Writing by Other Means.

Against my better judgement, I’m keeping a dream sequence in my #WIP. #WriteSky

I am working on a new draft of a novel. I’ve never before killed so many darlings (even down to the level of setting). If keep telling myself I’ll use these ideas again in another story, I might start to believe it. 😂

I’m relieved. I was getting worried there for a moment.

Revising my latest #spaceopera today. Am I weird for liking revising more than drafting? I feel like that the revising stage is where I really get to tell the story. #writingcommunity #WriteSky

Finding someone to represent my 40,000 word #dystopian story (climate collapse, late stage capitalism, and internet addiction) is harder than solving the differential equations of a three body problem. #WriteSky

Started draft 4 of my a #spaceopera novel. I am excited to get back to it. I think I can now write the story I’ve wanted to from the start. #WriteSky.

Finished my now-40,000 word dystopian/scifi thriller novella (novel?). Still trying to decide if I’ll seek representation or independently publish. #WriteSky #scfi #dystopian

Every time I think I am close to finishing this #dystopian novella it needs just a little more tweaking. Almost there… Also, it really doesn’t want to break the 40,000 word mark. Nor do I feel comfortable shortening it. Is it too long for a novella???

Spent this weekend working on a 38,000-word (ultra) dystopian novella.

Should I try to pitch a long novella? Or should I see if I can get it to 50,000 words and sell it as a short novel?

I think the story is as lean as it can be. Thoughts?
