I have successfully acquired @adamchristopher.me’s latest book!
But, when combined with ‘Shadows of the Sith’ and his stories in the ‘From a Certain Point of Views’ I now possess enough of Adam’s soul to wield him as a weapon against Grâshnâr the Destroyer.
The day of liberation is at hand.

Next week I'm flying off to Rome to ruin both history *and* Star Wars for @vandawilcox.bsky.social's students. Here's a little sneak peak.

Almost exactly 12 years ago I was at London Comicon as a fan to see what Star Wars stuff was going on. I encountered some Imperial soldiers. I only mention this as I’m on a train to London to do a ‘Comicon After Dark’ event for ‘Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire’ and that’s a ridiculous outcome.

Well this type of position doesn’t come up very often so I imagine competition will be fierce…

I want to be very, very clear about the extent to which I have no regrets about buying the @valheimgame.bsky.social board game.

Four years ago today I got my hands on ‘Star Wars: Battles that Changed the Galaxy’ for the first time. Appearing alongside the far more auspicious @jasoncfry.bsky.social, Amy Ratcliffe, and Cole Horton. Think it’s probably fair to say this book pretty dramatically changed my life.

It’s nearly my birthday, I’ve had a weird/intensive two weeks, I’ve still got a horrible asthmatic cold, and I think I deserved a little treat.

'But, Chris - How bad could it be?' I hear you ask.
A few examples taken from my chapter here: www.bloomsbury.com/uk/multiling...
I strongly recommend reading: 'Chad Louis Williams, Torchbearers of Democracy: African American Soldiers in the World War I Era' 🗃️

Hard not to take this snub personally…
Since 2009, I wanted to be President of the Society and I did it. I also know we achieved a great deal under my stewardship. I also always wanted to have a 'successful' academic career and I did not achieve that. I'm still separating those 2 things, but am eternally grateful I got to do the first.

The 2009 conference of the Society was my first 'major' conference during my PhD. I was very nervous before it. I'd done some smaller events and symposiums in academia after starting my PhD in January 2008 but this was the first Big Thing in my field of study. 8/

The conference itself was just so wonderful. They always are a huge highlight of the Society but this one may well have been the most International event the Society has ever done. There were members from Australia, New Zealand, Japan, America, Canada and across Europe. 2/

As is traditional for outgoing presidents at the end of their term I’m having one last flight home on Air Force (World War) One.
