Pi day pie extravaganza. Chicken pot pie and non-dairy raspberry chocolate custard. Nice way to celebrate the end of a good week.

Beef Wellington pre-cook. I’m happy enough with this that even if it isn’t perfect, I’ll be ok with it.

800 g of mushrooms and 300 g of shallots cooks down pretty much to nothing. But oh what a nothing it is. It smells like heaven.

The pic is a curry comb. The name comes from the french word corroyer (older versions spelled differently that yielded curry). At least from what I have found, it translates to "prepare" or "make ready." As in to make your horse ready, not prepare your curry.

Your name in Landsat imagery is amazing. If you keep resubmitting the request it keeps changing the image and it just got better and better.

The fantastic Leadership Scholars in my CAS 100 class organized this super cool event on the topic of banned books and censorship. If you are in the Syracuse University community and want to hear from authors who have had their books banned, stop in this evening.

The soil test kit pH range units are not exactly satisfying the geochemist in me. The result from the dingy liquid on the left means near pH 7. The tubes on the right will probably show me what our sad garden already revealed this year - nutrients are low. Glacial till on limestone - no good.

It’s November 17th in Syracuse and I am still gardening.

That is about 100 dollars worth of bananas in the Moscone Center here at AGU. I guess I should have gotten into the banana business instead of geochemistry.
