Hello Mike, besides adding another starting pitcher or two to the rotation, do you think adding a starting OF or INF makes more sense (besides resigning Bichette)?

For example if they were to add Tucker or Bellinger than Lukes moves into a platoon role, Barger would shift to 3B and Ernie utility.

Based on the Jays approach and roster construction the past few seasons it was counterintuitive to analytics.

Baseball is far from the only sport that actively uses analytics and honestly if the Jays stuck to it more they would likely have had more success

That is how all managers operate now

This is hindsight though, we don't know what woukd have happened. The Jays had their opportunities and didn't cash, that is baseball.

Yes he got picked off but you don't make the final out potentially at 3B. It was mostly a fluke play for the Dodgers, it was a line drive that Barger thought was getting passed. It happens players are human and make mistakes

Steal when they have 2 outs?
November 2, 2025 at 11:27 PM
It in no way is strictly the managers fault. The Jays got unlucky and faced a dominant pitcher at the top of his game 3 times in the same series.

Why would they swap Kirk for Heineman in a close ball game where they needed to score a run?
November 2, 2025 at 10:46 PM
This loss wasn't on Schneider. Remember modern Front Offices have a role in onfield decisions. The manager no longer has full autonomy in today's game
November 2, 2025 at 10:28 PM
Do you think it would be a good idea to shift Bichette to 2B and start Gimenez everyday at SS?
November 2, 2025 at 9:57 PM
I appreciated the coverage Mike, it was an incredibly frustrating and gutting loss. What do you think the Jays need to do this off-season to remain competitive?
November 2, 2025 at 9:39 PM
You realize that most teams don't win right? The Jays are also not the Leafs. The Jays championship drought is 32 years, which isn't even that bad in baseball. You realize that the Cubs waited over 100 years and the Redsox waited nearly 100 years before winning in 2004.

Jays lose a game trying to prove you can win in a draw. The defense first/contact hitting strategy let's them down in this one.

This has the FO written all over it

Now this game is over and quite possibly the series

Don't subject yourself to that. It would be no different from read Steve Simmons columns or Marty York's if he still wrote

At the same time, maybe the Jays just are not a good team. The umpiring today sucked but a good team would have found a way around that
October 13, 2025 at 11:11 PM
Phew got out of it
October 9, 2025 at 2:13 AM
This isnt looking good
October 9, 2025 at 2:11 AM
So its not that bad then
October 8, 2025 at 4:36 AM
Varland and Fisher
October 8, 2025 at 3:36 AM
This is the FO. Any moves you see that seem to be too cute or galaxy brained are not made by the manager.
October 8, 2025 at 2:51 AM
I did not unless you are referring to the other commenter. I don't bet on sports period
