The notion that the state cannot conduct its own investigation is ridiculous. Thousands were at the scene within hours of this crime. Millions have seen the video evidence. The state authorities cannot? You go down there; you collect evidence and interview witnesses. What am I missing?

Realistically, the only actual leverage of any sort the Dems have in Congress comes at the end of the month as the temporary funding bill for the government expires. They could force a partial government shutdown then over a number of issues, including this illegal use of force.
