In 2020, a farmer in England discovered one of the most significant Roman mosaics in the country. Archaeologists believe it depicts scenes from the Trojan War—but NOT the version told in the Iliad.

In 1808, Tecumseh founded Prophetstown, in the Indiana Territory, as a refuge for Native Americans and a headquarters for his movement. After Tippecanoe, its location was lost, but archaeologists are now finding clues.

The search for the first colonial-era fort in Maryland ended when archaeologists confirmed its location. St. Mary’s Fort was built in 1634; clues of its existence included hearths and a 1633 silver shilling.
