Its actually hard for me to see the skills I was taught by my grandmothers turned into fetish content for fascist weirdos. Women have willingly worked themselves to the bone for centuries on farms- its not pretty work, and it doesn't make you a sweet docile little thing.

Well, this take is wrong in some impressive ways.
First off, we did not "insist on seeing it as evil"- there was a range of reactions.
Second- are we pretending that those assaults on rainbow displays and harassment of workers didn't happen, now?

As someone who has been up in it for years- being exposed to bigotry does nothing for you as a person. It doesn't give you some wonderful alternate viewpoint or provide greater understanding. Its just makes you tired.
