Southall and Ealing. Active travel, allotments and getting the most out of living in London.
Goodness I'm sick of all this "London has fallen" nonsense, mostly in the other place.

Lovely day out today at the Tate, Covent Garden, Hanwell and then home to Southall.

Lived in London for over 20 years and it's never felt more safe, more vibrant.

New footpath guardrails waiting to be installed on South Rd, Southall.

Will make things safer for Hambrough Primary kids and parents by stopping parking outside old Methodist Hall and crossing South Rd away from pedestrian crossing.

Great to see @ealingcouncil.bsky.social taking action here.

Wandered around Brentford yesterday afternoon and was struck by what must be a vast amount of money being put into developments plus new shops and restaurants.

Southall much better connected with the Elizabeth Line but very few new shops/restaurants alongside development.

In case anyone's wondering, the weather today in London feels much like winter in New Zealand, at least in the North Island.

At its heart, Star Trek is a utopian fantasy about a society so advanced that they are capable of holding productive meetings that last no longer than three minutes

The Elizabeth Line has had a few issues in the past week, but sometimes, like this morning, we get to watch a stream train go by, as a little treat.

Avenue Road in Southall is one of the roads that @ealingcouncil.bsky.social has earmarked for active travel improvements, including a new cycle lane. Interested to know where they'll fit it, are the owners of the dozens of cars parked on vacant land in for a big suprise?
