Don’t start that talking
I could talk all night…
It was absolutely awesome.
Seems fairly lame to post a picture of a theater curtain but David had prerecorded a statement that encouraged everyone to be in the moment and stay off of our phones… I snapped a couple quick ones…

Heidi and I are patiently waiting for David Byrne here at the Dolby Theater. We’ve really been looking forward to this show. Really really!

From the yard yesterday.

It’s Heidi’s Birthday today!
In a rather challenging year it’s nice to have a someone by your side, ready to face everything that life throws your way.
Always ready to hit the town, and boogie on down!!

Tent camping at the beach in the middle of November.
What could go wrong?
Quick little trip to celebrate Heidi’s birthday at our favorite spot on Earth!

We were at a Korean market today and picked up this slab of tofu. Wild and crazy times over here!

The bees were just waiting for a reason to come back to the yard.
Here’s reason number one.

Three Werewolves and a Scary Monster.
The death of Bill Graham just a few days before the Oakland Halloween run cast a very real pall over the festivities. Ken Kesey’s Dark Star “rap” is one the heaviest things I’ve ever experienced at a concert. Chilling.
Happy Halloween.

Concord was fun, London was interesting. Oakland ‘91 was something else altogether. Just six days after Bill Graham died.
Funeral wreaths on stage. The Ken Kesey Dark Star “rap”. Very heavy, very cool. Chilling.

Hope springs eternal in the Fall.
It’s a bright, crisp and very warm morning here.
October always has several of these Indian Summer sort of days. Hot. Hotter than the Dodgers’ bats to be sure!!

We’re waiting patiently for J.R.A.D. on a Spooooky Saturday night at the Greek.
Deep in the mysterious and foreboding forest of Los Feliz!

This morning. Not necessarily from our backyard because it’s all yard these days. This charmer is about four feet high and rising. A little splash of optimism helping me keep my hopes off of the ropes…

35 years ago! Easily my least favorite Grateful Dead show. Off kilter and listless. The band admitted later that it wasn’t a great performance. A thin carpet covered the ice. It was a long way to travel just to get cold feet…

Last night at the Hollywood Bowl. LCD Soundsystem + Pulp worked the crowd into a frenzy. Good energy, zero chompers. Everyone was up and dancing, too busy to talk…

At Zuma Beach a few days back. The water was warm(ish) and clear. Very few people, just the way we like it. Fall is gonna Fall this Monday so we’re once again desperately holding on to Summer. Salt water and sunshine for the win!!

Last weekend we not only escaped from the Fortress of Mediocrity, we also found the edge of the Continent. We swam in the Ocean like absolute beginners. And, for a quick moment, everything was okay.

Seems alright with me! We were a more communal society a few decades ago… Speaking of Faye, she was married to Peter Wolf for a few years. His memoir has more than a few recollections of their charmingly turbulent relationship. To say the least…

Much like Turkey Vultures, we soared into Hollywood to catch My Morning Jacket at the Palladium last night. We just absolutely adore this band. They performed “Z” in its entirety. Great sound, great crowd. Just a lovely Tuesday evening all around. Good times!!

Waiting patiently last night for the Tedeschi Trucks Band at the Greek. It was a warm Summer evening and T.T.B. rolled out another stellar show. They’ve quickly become one of our favorite live acts. Twelve people on stage. Locked in and crushing it. Good times indeed!!

Karl Denson at the Lodge Room a few years back. The best!!

Happy Birthday, Jerry!
33 years ago somehow seems both a longer and shorter span of time…
Anyway, it’s been a while.
Up on the lawn at Irvine for $19.75 all in? Yes, please!!

Just finished reading this. Pollock is the guy who made the first tie-die speaker covers that the Dead used. He’s still making tie/die tapestries as far as I can tell…

Her book is such a good read.
A very wild and adventurous life story even before her first album is released. Crazy stuff.

There are people who can predict a set list by a certain band. I can barely tie my shoes.
