To get access to Amazon's Product Advertising API you need 10 sales every 30 days! One would need to build up an affiliate marketing system before even getting access. Time for a re-think on my plans for a new SaaS.

I recently spent a lot of time and research curating the Top 5 Compliance Management Systems You Should Know About. Preview most are open source. DM me for more.

Going through a couple of launch checklists for @ComplianceManSys. I've worked out how to get a high DR and a good deal of traffic by now! It's tedious work submitting to directories but it's worth it. I don't want to pay for other people to do it as I don't trust them. I got DR of 26 in the end.

Solopreneur's here's how to make sure your code is bulletproof!

A mix of Sonarcube and Cursor bugbot is the best way of checking code is of decent quality and secure. They review PR's on Github and 9 times out of 10 there is something you'll need to fix!

It's never too late to start building! I'm 43 but I keep going every day. I have a full-time job, toddler and lot's of renovation to do, but it's possible to squeeze out a bit of time each day even if it's just 15 mins. Just keep the momentum going and it compounds every day!

I'm not sure what Smooshing is but I like Claude Code's vibe (pun intended).

While building @CompManSys I was reminded about how many security frameworks there are ... so many!

It's got around 35 listed where as most people just know the main one's SOC2, ISO27001 and GDPR.

Most Indie Hackers that are also parents aren't getting enough exercise and therefore reducing their mortality rate by 42% or in simple terms reducing their lifespan by over 10 years.

So clearly exercise for everyone is really important. Even 10 mins a day will help, get out there! :-}

Most Soloprenuer/Parents are reducing their lifespan by over 10 years.

All you need is 20 mins a day 4 or 5 times a week of vigorous exercise. This is enough to gain all the benefits of longevity and holistic health but quick enough you can fit it in between coding, hustling, chores and bath time.

"You're starting at 43?"

Yes! My situation:

- 16 years knowing which problems actually matter
- A mortgage (forces focus)
- One kid (forces constraint thinking)
- Zero patience for hype (forces boring solutions that work, I love boring probems)

Late isn't a disadvantage.

I think we're coming full circle and coming back to original content again. That's if Google is clever enough to detect AI generated content. People will be forced to go back to original content.

The humble tab key.

You used to be used only occasionally for indentation and navigating input fields. All the while the space bar and vowel keys were hogging the attention!

Now vibe coding is the rage and you're having your time in the spotlight. Tab, tab. You'll be the most worn out key soon.

Learning about peering connections today, man, AWS is so powerful but having that power means there's a lot of work!

Ironically, investors have a lot of influence over OSS. A lot will change and a OSS repo will get forked like Redis and Terraform.
November 4, 2025 at 7:16 PM
The UK Government uses OSS extensively - avoid lock in and get the code recycled and reused and improved. Grants are good to kick off but these projects needs further funding for maintenance.

Government could OSS and introduce incentives for OSS developers to fix their issues.

The benefits of creating a product that's open source is you can lean into open source as marketing and do a land grab. You get loyalty that's rare in commercial and you can radically change your space. Docker is so popular because it's OSS!
