I didn’t say anything about building institutions. I’m talking about building meaning and community in a decentralized way. It’s hard. And yeah, money sucks. But it’s not impossible.

True. It’s a community. I mean, you gotta earn a living but the vast majority of the work I do is essentially volunteer too.

…and now worried for their careers. Build your world with disregard for corporate values, corporate approval, corporate money, not with the end goal of soaking it up while pretending not to be compromised. Be ambitious and creative but stay small and in control. It’s more sustainable and more fun
