Maybe this is the year that we don’t celebrate one person scarfing down dozens of hot dogs for fun when more of our citizens will be going hungry because of what just happened.

3/3 Double majoring in political science and history exposed me to the rise and fall of all forms of government, and the wonder of our unique system of checks and balances, justice, and of liberties and freedom. It is not perfect, but it is the best the world has offered. We need to defend it.

2/3 I wish that this lofty historical fact inspired me to be a lawyer, but it didn’t. What inspired me was watching my dad’s friend, a lawyer in town, pull into a restaurant parking lot driving a black Porsche 911. But I was 12, and my brain not fully formed.
