I agree, it could be the entry to the South Curve perhaps with the little link road in the background which could be used to separate the Sudschleife from the Nordschleife if both we needed for different events

1973 is the season I really remember most growing up despite following motor sports since 1968 and a lot of fairly useless facts have stayed with me !! Fully agree about helmet designs but I suppose they're one of the most visible things so sponsors dictate how they look to a large extent.

Think you're a year early. Ronnie ran with No 4 on his car in Argentina and No 2 for the rest of the year whilst Emerson picked up No 1 after Argentina. Ronnie ran with No 1 the following year due to Lotus winning the 1973 Constructors championship and Stewart retiring.

Still the youngest motorcycle world champ I think.

Race took place on the usual circuit in Buenos Aires BUT in the opposite direction to normal ie anticlockwise. Can't think of any other WC GP where this has happened

Can't be that difficult to hack the database with the names and addresses of all ICE Stormtroopers can it ?

Putin's Paedo Puppy should be represented by a golf ball

Another great podcast, thanks both. Many years ago Ronnie's brother, Tommy, wrote on a site dedicated to RP that he only intended to do 1 season at McLaren then wanted to leave F1 to race Group 5 BMW's and help youngsters in F3. How true that was might be confirmed if we knew his contract length.

Beautifully written tribute Matt, thank you.

As a traditionalist and much as I respect him for what he's achieved, I thought he was thoroughly disrespectful drinking orange juice rather than milk after winning Indy. At least it should've been a caipirinha !!!

As Henry II said, " who will rid me of this troublesome priest" but I doubt Donny Dementia would know who Henry II was 😀

Only person to drive a Connew in Grand Prix. Lovely bloke by all accounts.

Very enjoyable episode. Apparently Indy regular Eddie Sachs didn't agree with Parnelli carrying on dropping oil in the 1963 Indy and took it up with him at the post race gala which earnt him a smack on the nose. Sadly Eddie would die at Indy the following year in that awful accident with McDonald.

Wonder if things would've been different if his career hadn't stalled due to the broken leg suffered when Alboreto (incorrectly) decided there was a gap at Pont Oscar during the 1981 F2 race at Pau 😕

Sadly murdered, allegedly by burglars, as his wife was a few years earlier 😢

So many but perhaps the 1953 F Libre GP at Albi to see Fangio and Gonzales point the BRM V16s down the narrow bumpy tree lined straights knowing the tyres were really not up to the job following Wharton's shunt in practice. Epitome of bravery.

Excellent one that Gents. Thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks. Oh and just a reminder that there's a memorial to Jo Schlesser ( and the other drivers who lost their lives at Rouen) at Six Freres corner on the wonderful old track

Would probably have won the 1968 London - Sydney Marathon if not for a spectator in a Mini hitting his Citroen head on.
