I'm mostly around Edinburgh, often lurking in corners with a camera at cultural events.

The TERFs waving their virtual placards, saying it's nonsense and nobody would have only happened in recent years. Ignoring the long long history of transgender and intersex people who would be treated as male but still mentruate. They love to scream DARVO but no one gaslights better than a bigot.

Seeing this caption made me feel angry and insulted.

Then I realised, for many people (ie home owners) moving house IS fun. And deliberate.

Turns out when ten of the twelve moves you've made since turning 18 are forced on you, it's not fun and more like trauma.

Housing badly needs a reboot.

I rarely get a good angle on morning light but it was nice at sunset yesterday!

He's become his own offensive mockery.

I forgot to buy a bunch of individually wrapped sugar confections to leave out as offerings to the local younglings so went in a different direction.

(I'm very pro Halloween but totally humbug about having to interact with children)

If you see this, quote with a robot that isn't from 'Star Wars', 'Star Trek', 'Doctor Who' or 'Transformers'.

One unintended effect of the explosive growth of AI and its hunger for GPUs was that many locations could no longer afford the processing power to generate distances.

Even cities like Edinburgh were unable to escape this fate, despite relying on dramatic views for tourist income.

This article takes facts which have already been posed in the most flattering way and exaggerates them to the point you'd think it was a Daily Fail piece. Astonished the Herald allowed it to be published.

Ah yes, if 60 women who participated in sports *over 23 years* turn out to have an unusual genetic advantage it must be a conspiracy and not just that the genetic advantage gives them... A natural advantage?

The bigot brain worms at work.

I'm sorry Zuck what is your hand doing?

Once again JK thinks she's talking about her enemies when actually she's describing her friends.

I see the southernmost parking spot is very popular in the afternoon, stretching far enough to cause a hazard.
September 9, 2025 at 7:42 PM
Sure sure JK, that's why you started off getting a spokesperson to write it off as "a clumsy and middle-aged moment" when you liked a tweet.

This was never her goal, although she may have had the mindset. She was egged on by bigots and pushed away by people shouting at her. Cue TERF spiral.

Local TERF photographer tries to make a point (I can't tell what the point is meant to be) about Tom Harlow's protest at the Scottish Parliament but ends up making him look iconic.

Ah, such a pity JK Rowling has spent so long actively ignoring Glinner, otherwise she'd know that he's done a lot more than tweet once promoting violence.

I imagine getting her to finally acknowledge his existence will make anything that happens to him seem worth it.

Well if this doesn't sum up the problem with so much of the world - including the entertainment industry, not just animation...

Doing my occasional check-in on how Xitter is behaving itself (badly), among the other irrelevant ads (burner account bad for algorithms!) I saw one I've never seen the likes of before. If it's worth spending money on this then they must think the site is full of people who might need the message 😳

Okay but maybe we could make...

Aliens on the C64 scared the bejeezus out of us. But I think we were probably a bit younger than the target audience.
August 25, 2025 at 7:49 AM
Well Jo, I think if you're looking for someone who meets this description you could start by looking in the mirror?
August 22, 2025 at 12:04 PM
I have to share this hilariously absurd video from anti-trans organisation Sex Matters because it's incredibly cringe - so much so that it's not even offensive. She fails to use an apostrophe in her public protest and doesn't even know what the title of the book actually means.

When the Edinburgh Everyman statue (aka Waverley Wullie) was installed at the Council headquarters, and his skin was observed to be much darker than the average Edinburgher. The sun darkened him further until it looked like an awkward monument to the slave trade, but now he's undead grey.

Nicola Sturgeon at #edbookfest was on form, not getting an easy ride from Wark but handling it admirably. Many cheers and applause for her steadfast support of trans rights, which was nice.

I don't like the appearance of video billboards for #edfringe shows around the place but also I hope whoever has paid to advertise on this one is demanding a refund - all the time and venue info is obscured by the hoardings in front 🤣
