Wie hier is, is van hier, en dus niet daar. UU (NL), but also UA (Bel) and UCL (UK). Displaced by Brexit. Still on X as @chrisdec71 (dormant) and @belgianrefugees (increasingly sleepy).
I never had to look for this in libraries or archives as several copies have been available all along. But now that I managed to get a copy myself I was surprised to see the size of the Report. Sassoon paperback just for comparison.

Upon opening the file later on it appeared to be corrupt. Efforts gone. All through our Eurostar ride, Ifor was in charge of restoring text and narrative. Never felt so much like Rachel McAdams looking at a language professional at work. In awe, diolch!

Second half of 24 in a nutshell. Seeing friends in N and S Wales end of July, meeting John Wake in Cardiff. Pretty severe bike crash few days later. Still consequences of that, but now in Cardiff with John Wake again. Tomorrow heading for Brussels, with another friend from Wales on the same train

Store Street, London. This building was King Albert's Hospital for Belgian soldiers during WW1.

On the left, a plaque commemorates the first meeting in 1946 of the United Nations General Assembly in the Methodist Central Hall. Straight ahead, a church attended by many Belgians during WW1. Next to the Abbey, Shane MacGowan's school, expelled from there over drug offences. #wednesdayrandomness

During the First World War, over 250,000 Belgian refugees stayed in the UK. The numbers shifted considerably throughout. The Belgians established a substantial exile press. A very popular one was De Stem Uit België located on Russell Square, the house on the right of this row.
