I feel your pain. I saw my last preorder (Kill Team) at Warhammer World two days before I could pick it up, and then on the Saturday I was busy from 9:30am until 7pm so couldn't pick it up until late. Patience is needed.

The levelling up does slow down. Also, I found that after completing the introduction I had a firm enough grasp to realise I wanted to okay a different kind of character entirely 😅 I have since started a new game with the character I now want to play.

2 years living in Russia and hearing only Americans speak English in that time left me with some kind of mid-Atlantic accent that no one can ever place.

FWIW, I do prefer the original Deathwatch shield to the new one. Luckily I still have some spares in my bits box.

The original had character because it was characters, rather than sculpts that can be any one of a highly diverse set of chapters. This new set allows for way easier kitbashing with heads and shoulder pads from all manner of Space Marine kits without conflicting with the base sculpt.
