The aurora has indeed been incredible in #yeg area tonight. So much powerful red up there. This was near Josephburg.

So many #yegbike friends and neighbours came together this morning in memory of Darren Markland. Easy to love Edmonton today.

Happy to confirm the funicular is still working. The elevator is still down for maintenance. What a clear blue sky today.

Showstopper in Yoho: a coral fungus! We spotted this on the hike to Lake McArthur. I love that it was the colour of mac and cheese and the texture of firm and squishy silicone. On closer inspection, we think those white dots at the bottom right might have been slime moulds too.

In honour of the Northern Flicker hanging out on a streetlamp by the Kinsmen this morning, I present this one I drew last year. I like to think these birds are up to good trouble.

Filling out a sketch of a beautiful bungalow in my neighbourhood. My friend and I sat and drew it from the boulevard. I love the magpie. #yegart #wip

Two more weeks to see @fcypca.bsky.social's amazing artwork in the Ortona Diaspora show at the Art Gallery of Alberta. Worth seeing in person for these incredible micro-details!

This week's Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is funny, heartbreaking, full of competence porn, cool ships and great Spock/Kirk moments. And offers this desperately timely line:

"Maybe that's the lesson... Empathy isn't conditional. It's either given or it isn't."

These two gorgeous pieces are part of the Ortona Diaspora group show - Finn’s first time showing at the AGA! Worth getting up close and personal to see the almost-embroidered 3D pen layering.

Look at this beautiful sandy stilt puffball at Writing-on-Stone.

Never seen one before! No gills under the cap. Didn’t even know puffballs could grow on stalks like this.

Snaps from a wonderful day monitoring birds at Edmonton & Area Land Trust’s Lu Carbyn sanctuary west of the city. Looking for birds with a bestie, playing with dinosaurs, loving the flowers… this is what life is meant for.

I’m just a girl, standing in front of the fossilized remains of a Centrosaurus dentary, asking him to love her.

Varadha Sethu is suuuch a pleasure on screen. I think I'm going to adore her as the Doctor's latest companion - especially because she's not going to take any of his shenanigans. #doctorwho

If you subscribe to the @taprootedmonton.ca Pulse newsletter (free, btw), you better try the YEG crosswords they’re doing this month. 1) Because they rock. 2) Because I want them forever and you better help me show that we want them!!!
