The Royals have a special arm talent in Kendry Chourio. Making his Single-A debut at 17 years old, Chourio worked his fastball 94-97 mph and showed an 85-87 mph changeup with strong traits. The upper-70s curveball was inconsistent at times, but it showed flashes. Plus Command.

Franklin Arias HR from last night. 105 mph EV. Also added a single and a walk.

Freili Encarnacion is going to hit a ton of HR in Greenville this summer. Blasted his first HR as a Drive this weekend at 112 mph. Has a ball hit over 120 mph this year and has a ton of 110+ mph batted ball events. The Red Sox prospect is 20 years old in High-A.

The Braves got a steal in the 20th Round last year, grabbing Eric Hartman from Canada. The 18-year-old has split time at 2B/OF and has hits in 9 of his last 10. Clocked him 4.1 sec H-1(plus). Showed a good approach and the ability to hit velocity in my looks last week.

Rays' 2024 1st Rounder Theo Gillen has 6 multi-hit games in his last 7. Has a HR and SB in his last two. Gillen has really picked it up the last few weeks since having a calf injury. The feel to hit and use the whole field is impressive. Here's some swings from last week:

AJ Smith-Shawver whiff reel from last night.
He lowered his release height slightly but created 2.5 inches more of IVB on FB(18.7 from 5'8" rel ht).
New split-change was devastating, and he made some slider adjustments.
Will have a detailed report in the Dynasty Digest.

Here is a look at the swings from when I saw him last year and this weekend.

Something to watch with Brandon Pfaadt: his curveball.
He used it more over the final few games, with fewer sweepers(13 HR allowed). The sweeper is still an effective whiff pitch, but better sequencing of the CH/SW/CB could lead to a big 2025. 4 starts w/9 or more K in Aug/Sept

My 2025 Outfield Breakout Prospect pick on the latest @toolshedpod.bsky.social was Brailer Guerrero.
Will be 18 for the 1st half of the 2025 season likely in Single-A. A shoulder injury ended his 2024 early, but he slashed .330/.452/.466 slash w/2 HR/13 SB

I have seen the dismissal of the high ranks of Jesus Made because "it was the DSL." Comparing his underlying data and watching some film, it is clear that Made's season was elite. Now, he will likely begin 2025 in Single-A as a 17 year old

Jake Miller is one of the more fascinating arms in the Tigers system to me and is extremely underrated. He put up one of the best AFL pitching performances I saw. Check out his full report and rank in my Detroit Tigers Top 30.

The Guardians system is loaded from top to bottom. I talked about Welbyn earlier, but Jaison Chourio also gave me some strong looks this year. I think you can envision the power coming, and it's an impressive hit tool already.

Welbyn Francisca was my SS breakout pick in the latest @toolshedpod.bsky.social. Sure, the surface numbers were good, but his underlying statcast data stood out to me as someone who is a no doubt top 100 prospect.

Jett Williams missed a large chunk of 2024 due to a wrist injury and wound up hurting his ankle in the AFL, but a healthy 2025 could lead him to be part of the Mets big league squad. Full scouting report + reports on all Mets top 30 prospects ⬇️

I missed this for some reason at the Winter Meetings. Rockies GM Bill Schmidt said Chase Dollander will have a chance to make the Rockies out of Spring Training. His stuff is as good as any arm in the minors. The fastball is elite. If any pitcher can beat Coors, it’s Dollander.

Sadly, I am avoiding Coby Mayo in redraft. There is no clear path to playing time. That could change with a trade, though. Long-term I am still in. Full thoughts in the latest @toolshedpod.bsky.social

Eric Bitonti of the Brewers has big-time breakout potential in 2025. The power is off the charts for someone who just turned 19 years old, and he hits the ball at ideal launch angles consistently. Full thoughts in the latest @toolshedpod.bsky.social episode: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

Carson DeMartini is one of my favorite under-the-radar prospects from the 2024 MLB Draft. The Phillies made some approach/swing adjustments, and the contact soared during his pro debut.

Konnor Griffin has been putting in major work this offseason. Look at the body and swing changes from July to December. Already the best prep bat from the 2024 draft imo, Griffin is a prospect who could take off in 2025 and has immense upside

Alejandro Rosario took a massive leap in 2024 with a pitch mix change. The fastball sits 95-98 but with 17 inches of IVB from a 5’6” release height(plus IVB). The slider and splitter are both plus pitches as well & Rosario threw strikes as good as anyone. Full report ⬇️
