Montrealistic guitaritarian & writery artperson. Toujours antifasciste.

Be unrelentingly honest and kind and everything else takes care of itself.

Freedom is in peril. We must defend it with all of our might.
Lights All Askew In The Heavens would also be an excellent alt-country folk-rock band name.

As would More Or Less Agog.

And also Men Of Science.

Dang these old timey newspaper headers are a goldmine for band names!

A Dostoyevsky excerpt that sums up America under Trump. A nation of brutal, bestial, loveless liars.

Chillaxin in the new art studio here in Montreal. Moved all my current art & work stuff in on Wednesday. Lots o' unpacking and setup still to do!

Gonna create a whole lotta Art all up in here, including finishing the video game that I've been workin on.

Per his older sister, America's modern Goebbels-Goering hybrid was once a sweet little kid obsessed with Ghostbusters and Michael Jackson.

Another critically important point.

No bargaining with fascists.

First fight them with every non-violent means available.

If that fails, well; history is chock full of graphic examples of the next necessary steps.

One of THE most important points in defeating fascism.

Which we're going to do, collectively, as a species.

We've done it before; we're in the process of getting it together to do it again, vastly more comprehensively this time.

Montreal often has skies that make me feel like I'm looking at one giant transgender pride flag.

Today I learned that the French title of the 1991 film "Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead" is "Faut pas dire à Maman que la Gardienne mange les Pissenlits par les Racines", which translates as "Don't Tell Mom That the Guardian Eats Dandelions by the Roots".

Trying to cram in as many open mic nights here in Montreal as possible before that all kicks off while continuing to hope that somehow miraculously it doesn't all kick off.

I am so down for this! I Am Not Your Negro was incredible, and Exterminate All The Brutes was life changing. Raoul Peck's work should be part of the core curriculum in public schools the world over.

Good lord. A large percentage of the staple items of my vegetarian diet are about to disappear from the market.

Stopped by the delightful @joiedelivresmtl.bsky.social earlier this evening and picked up three novels by a new-to-me author: Becky Chambers, who, sensibly, is not on social media.

I forgot that I took some quick exterior photos of this phenomenal lil bookstore-cafe last night.

The interior is incroyable but I didn't take any photos because I was too distracted by the general aesthetic amazingness.

Joie de Livres! You should go!

Sittin' in a park in Montreal on a lovely spring evening, enjoying a pack of Japanese Twinkie equivalents while America descends into civil war II and the Israelis kick off world war 3.

Sobering words, as true today as when he spoke them.

Groups like this are one of the main reasons it's difficult to stop using Facebook.

Graffiti game!

Montreal people: Can you guess which bar I was at earlier this evening from this men's washroom graffiti snapshot?

Encountered this busker in downtown Montreal earlier today who brought his own little fuzzy emotional support audience with him, set up attentively in his guitar case.

World's plummetin' to heck in a heckbasket so I'm distracting / consoling / edifying myself with this new Tolkien biography.

A random post from the "Made in Canada - Canadian Products" Facebook group, which has 1.2 million members at the moment.

I've lived in Canada for 50 years. I've never seen my fellow Canadians remotely as livid with America as we are now. The alliance I spent my entire life in is over.

This is what America looks like right now from a Canadian perspective.

Saw this book by @raskin.house.gov while shopping today. Published in January 2022. About how close America came to losing its democracy on January 6 2021.

Flipping through it in March 2025 with the traitor it describes back in office was very painful.

We're in an extremely dark timeline.

Received a bizarrely worded fundraising / commit-to-vote email from Mark Carney.

What is he talking about?

What is "it"?

This "it" that he's going to "get done" if/when he finds himself "looking Donald Trump in the eyes. With Canadian jobs and livelihoods hanging in the balance" ?

I wrote an email to Tim Apple.

The invaluable @hcrichardson.bsky.social - not a person given to hyperbole - had this to say in response to a question on her latest Facebook post about the unfolding fascist takeover:

"This is the most dangerous threat the U.S. has ever faced."
