Amused by this US Sinn Fein donor's perspective, but it adds to the case for reviewing the political finance rules in Northern Ireland. There are so many dangers from the lack of restrictions on foreign donors, and that money can seep into UK and Irish politics. www.politico.eu/article/how-...

This holds across parties with older women and non-local ethnic minorities least likely to win selection contests. Under emergency procedures women and ethnic minorities fare better, suggesting that snap elections may help improve diversity.
