Elon Musk tweeted about a story I'd written about the Rotherham CSE scandal this weekend - but it was missing a key bit of context with the publication date erased from the screenshot he shared. Some thoughts here on what happened in my newsletter:

Reminder that at the peak of the summer riots Tommy Robinson used his X account (which had been restored under Elon Musk) to post made-up false claims about Muslims stabbing white people in the streets.

Times reports that any Elon Musk donation to Nigel Farage and Reform is likely to come via the British arm of X: www.thetimes.com/article/312f...

Was a bit baffled by Louise Haigh’s resignation given she had previously disclosed the conviction to Labour but possibly key bit of Times reporting is allegation that she had reported missing phones on three occasions leading to Aviva’s internal investigation and then police involvement.

New development in Rachel Reeves CV change 'row' which has seen the Tories insinuate she isn't a real economist - CBI boss Rain Newton-Smith who worked with Chancellor at Bank of England tells @theyorkshirepost.bsky.social that Reeves was a 'very sharp, smart economist' and a 'true expert' at BoE.

With the growing fuss about Rachel Reeves's CV, for what it is worth this is what she told me back in 2021 about her pre-politics career at the Bank of England and Halifax. She gave a pretty detailed answer about working on the retail mortgages team the latter and didn't claim she was an economist.

Asked ChatGPT how much water it was using to answer my queries having seen some disputed claims about it. The answer for one simple question - a pretty shocking estimate of 2.5 litres. 😬

Important reporting by my colleague Greg Wright on the people left with life-changing serious illnesses from Covid vaccines.

Such a sensitive but important topic requires great skill and care to tackle and that’s exactly what he has done: www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/health/coma-...

Great to welcome DCMS minister Stephanie Peacock to The Yorkshire Post on Friday.

She said: “Journalists have been putting themselves at risk to make the public have information they can rely on. In an age of increasing misinformation that is a really important role.”

Couldn’t agree more.
