This is oligarchy. This is obscene.

While 60% live paycheck to paycheck & kids go hungry, Jeff Bezos, worth $230 billion, goes to Venice on his $500 million yacht for a $20 million wedding & spends $5 million on a ring while his real tax rate is just 1.1%.

End this oligarchy.

Yes. When the richest man alive owns over 5 times more wealth than the bottom 50% of American households, our country is rapidly moving towards oligarchy. That is unacceptable.

We must create an economy and a government that works for all of us, not just the billionaire class.

Just left the Senate after voting a hard NO on the “one big, beautiful bill.”

I will never support a bill that uses Medicare, Medicaid or SNAP cuts to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.

Last night, every Senate Democrat voted for my amendment calling for a $17 an hour federal minimum wage while every Republican but 1 opposed it. The movement to raise the minimum wage to a living wage is growing.

In 2025, a job must lift you out of poverty, not keep you in it.

Now is the time for our citizenry to fight for our federal workers and national programs. Let’s stand up to the power-mad autocrats, plutocrats and theocrats attacking democracy—at home and abroad.

I spoke with @briantylercohen.bsky.social about our historic assignment today.

Winston Churchill was right: "Democracy is the worst form of government except for all those other forms that have been tried.”

Too many Americans have fought and died defending democracy. We must stand with our European allies against the authoritarianism of Putin and Trump.

What "Anti-Christian Bias" does for Trump
The president's executive order is a vehicle for white evangelical Protestant Christian favoritism, but it is also a weapon against other Christians.

I have met with most of the cabinet nominees and have carefully watched their confirmation hearings.

After considering what’s at stake, I have voted against moving forward to the confirmation of Ms. Gabbard and Mr. Kennedy, and will be voting NO on their confirmations.
