A friend questioned what to do when joy (love) loses out to hate. Was MLK wrong when he said that only light can defeat darkness? I responded back that sometimes joy must be prepared to resist and defend itself, sometimes even on hate's terms. As the saying goes, freedom isn't free. Thoughts?

Cheers to a new public square where hopefully freedom of thought can flow freely, however we define that, and that you can join communities or not and that's ok. Time will tell...
