Deadline extended to 2 Nov!
Just over a week left to submit an application to present at next year's International Conference on Integrated Care in Birmingham. It's always a really worthwhile event to attend, and this is the first time it's been held in England.

This @hsj.co.uk piece from @chrisbnaylor.bsky.social totally nails it- lots of good stuff on CVD prevention in the 10 Year Health Plan but will only have impact if accompanied by some radical shifts in incentives including fiscal levers. www.hsj.co.uk/policy-and-r...

It is clear that bold action is needed to make the shift to prevention a reality.

The Chief Medical Officers from England, Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland will be joining us in September to explore what we can learn from across the UK.

🧵Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is responsible for 25% of UK premature deaths.

Up to 80% of these deaths are preventable.

It’s estimated that the burden of CVD costs £29 billion each year.

But CVD prevention is not currently being prioritised by the government at the scale needed.
