Zilpha Keatley Snyder's Green-Sky trilogy was a huge influence, not only the books but the immense (for the Commodore 64 anyway) world available in the video game crossover. Fantasy where arguably racism itself was the antagonist.

After returning from my vacation (where I toured several South American cities - lots of fun!) I got to thinking about where I might go for my next trip. And in that process I made a map of the world based on current Government of Canada travel advisories (h/t mapchart.net). It's pretty interesting!

Well I remember this event. I was living in Dartmouth NS at the time, and we got something like 80 cm I believe?

I grew up in the American South. This was more snow than I had ever seen in one storm. See the post in the foreground of this picture? That was the top of the deck! Impossible to exit.
