Bernwood SSSI is not to be. NE lacking. So disappointed. much effort over 10yrs. so much for govt commitment to nature when it really matters. the redesignation wouldn’t impact on growth but would strength how SSSI’s are managed for rare species that are actually there. why @tonyjuniper.bsky.social

i wonder how many built structures with underground / subterranean features up and down the country are used as swarming sites and we just don’t know they are ??? Need a national inventory and assessment (working on an idea)

Two Leisler’s in a bat box at NT Stowe this year. first in hand confirmation of this species in the site. Getting more records in local area, have we missed them before or are numbers increasing?
