Went to a Wogan filming at that theatre - not for that one - imaginative 6th teacher organised (hi, Miss Quinn). Surprisingly tiny and old skool inside. Cheesy warm-up floor mgr whipped up the crowd, ‘Applause’ board held up at the appropriate times, etc.

I genuinely feel sorry for her. She could have used her profile and contacts to do good work like heading up a charity or an NGO or something. Instead, she persists in pursuing loonytunes ideas and associating with fruitcakes. Just bizarre.

Her parents will have an awful long time to reflect on how they estranged their own child. I pity them, in a sense.

The last few tattered shreds of the red flag flutter in the wind. Labour have defecated on themselves even worse than the LibDems did in 2010.

Ah, but did you two cause any tables to pivot?

Not sure if relevant, but the A47 Thickthorn roadworks were reorganised over the weekend, and there are now some ‘cycling prohibited’ temporary signs on that stretch.

What industries have tea/snack lackeys?

Yes, recall that feeling of disbelief as I watched it. Quite astonishingly bad.

Brief window of non-crap weather here in Norfolk tmrw. Bike ride scheduled, as is correct and proper.

I once worked at a place so terrible that I ‘saved them up’ just so I’d get a 5 minute break from the work. A shit workplace, in every sense.

The truth (then and now): has its moments, but it’s patchy. There, no need to ever waste any time thinking about it again.

Come on Zak, get yourself elected as an MP as soon as feasible, and start kicking some arse in the chamber. Negotiate with Clive Lewis and see if he’ll fall on his sword?

A billion in French is "un milliard" which as some have mentioned in a deprecated word in English. Oh, and add in the Indian number system for extra confusion en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_...

Admire your persistence with it, reads very fluently and the story carries the reader along very well. Oh, just checked, and that thing I started writing was in 2015! Only finished a handful of things in the last decade :-( Well done, you!

Weirdly, I started writing something “similar but different” about 5yrs ago, but it didn’t really go anywhere and lacked the humour in your book, so I didn’t finish it. Will do that review when I get a mo. Thanks again, and have a good evening!

Read this yesterday, in two sittings (rudely interrupted by work). Great book, well written and evocative, really enjoyed it. Will post a review on Amazon. Thanks to @mattflipflop.bsky.social for the recommendation
