The hardest SF book I've ever tried to read (I failed) is Dempow Torishima's Sisyphean. I think it's set on a planet-sized alien bioship? But not totally sure.

And the author also illustrated the book:
Pencil illustration. Giger-esque, but much meatier. A humanoid figure pets a fuzzy lump of a creature. The landscape out to the horizon (membrane ceiling? a sky?) is incomprehensible jumble of bone-buildings. Pencil illustration. Giger-esque, but meaty. Some sort of carapace or head like one of those anatomical muscle skeleton dummies, but it looks like hundreds of tall, pale humanoid creatures are carrying it? Or glued to the underside? Pencil illustration. Giger-esque, but meaty. A pit in the earth like a bottomless throat. Holes like pores pock the sides. These are windows and doors to homes. A stairway descends the throat-pit city.

Just had a great dev meeting with @peregrinecoast.press for Milk Bar, and I'm gonna begin experimenting with some new mechanics (inspired by a certain @linkskywalker.bsky.social blog) with a playtest campaign starting next week.
