I think it's performative to appease the right. Get an ambitious minority woman to do the dirty work, then what she does can't be racist, right? Wrong.

For Keir Starmer to have genuinely thought appointing this woman as a token would give gravitas to the situation, was a big mistake. So disappointed. They are pandering to the loudest meanest voices; and the loudest don't represent the majority. She is a disgrace.

Why is Labour giving in? This is Government on demand, where the loudest voices get what they want, whether it's mean, illegal or irrational. They've totally lost it.

They have totally lost their way on immigration, taking the mean spirited route that feeds into right wing narratives. The idea that if you put a female immigrant in charge they'll make the right decisions is ludicrous. I give up!
