Senior meteorologist.
Since “Kiko” has been declared post-tropical, it seems incredible to currently have more tropical cyclones over the South Indian Ocean than the entire northern hemisphere, in early-mid September.

lol okay, thx. Will hopefully get to watch this soon, or maybe I don’t really hope for that?

Is Xavier Worthy active tonight? (I mean that in the most technical definition of the term.)

Defense mechanism is usually involved with joking about something bad. It’s typically awkward, but I think that’s a term a psychologist might use for this. (I’m not a doctor in real life, but I play one on TV.)

I’m working in eastern Massachusetts, but watched you on TV in CT way back when.

You’re not gonna tell us, but I’ll go with McCasland. UNC-W is a big team with lots of experience. If they can hit 3s on Thursday, which they generally kinda don’t, that could be a problem.

Did you know they rank number 1 at KenPom in home court advantage? Not justifying their absence, just wondering if the committee looked at that as a factor in making these decisions. They seemed to like metrics more than I can remember (vs resume).
March 16, 2025 at 10:51 PM
Yeah, absolutely no analysis. Liked their NET rating or predictive metrics vs the lack of Q1 wins? Something??
March 16, 2025 at 10:48 PM
Omg Texas made it. That is some crazy SEC love.
March 16, 2025 at 10:26 PM
I would’ve been good with Michigan as a 4. Their resume is great, which is supposed to count the most, just the metrics with all those close wins is the drawback.
March 16, 2025 at 10:22 PM
Inviting them even in a play-in makes Louisville as an 8 even worse.
March 16, 2025 at 10:07 PM
What’s more is the basket improved their KenPom rating, so they lost more efficiently.
March 10, 2025 at 12:57 PM
Relentless team. I would just hope this year they can string more of these kinds of hard-fought wins together in the Tourney.

The missed FTs by Harris with 18 seconds remaining, ooof. I certainly don’t put it all on him but the game was over with one make. Regardless, what a tremendous performance by Houston when they looked done. Such a great game.

That’s dense.

Jennings could not play like this, stating the ultra-obvious. That missed run for a first down early also cannot be overstated. I wonder if he tried too hard to make up for that miss, but we’ll never know.

Two playoff games, two nightmares (except for PSU & ND fans.) Sounds familiar, unfortunately.

Fewer losses, didn’t lose to the same team twice, defends the whole nation, easy.
December 8, 2024 at 1:06 AM
I kind of like the place they’re in. I don’t want the bias the other way because then they’re THE target, unless you actually have a Death Star talented team like some recent squads, GA, Bama, etc. In that case, it doesn’t matter anyway. (Those may be in the past.) I don’t see Oregon like that.
December 1, 2024 at 6:00 PM
I think partly it is in being conditioned to elite teams just busting out of the gate. It took longer than expected to become this team, with close wins to begin the season. I also think it’s not having been in the playoff for some time, and maybe even geography. Love to see them win it all though.
December 1, 2024 at 5:42 PM
I’m not an OSU fan, but that was a clinic in crappy coaching. His psychological hurdle with Michigan is crazy. I can’t see how they bring him back unless he wins a natty this season, which I doubt will happen, and even then he’d be on borrowed time if they lose to them again next year.
December 1, 2024 at 5:32 PM
And then there’s not using a timeout prior to the 2 minute mark. I’m sure he was thinking let Mich get a goal to go before using them, but your defense is playing well & the offense needed some friggin time. Then they gift them a first down after the 2-minute time out with illegal substitution? Wtf.
December 1, 2024 at 5:06 PM
I can’t believe anyone on X was mad, no way. I thought it was funny, or maybe just ironic, that Gus Johnson on live air planted his flag against planting flags.
December 1, 2024 at 4:16 PM
Fans accept the fact that a playoff crudely decides the “best team”. In your scenario, one could argue GA is the best team, but then so were the 2007 Patriots. They weren’t champions. Today’s culture just accepts the ultimate winner of the playoff as champ. That’s the rule, even if flawed.
