So I could be reaching but does anyone else feel Fujimoto was inspired/tributing Takeshi Miike's Audition for the Reze Arc? Not only I feel it can be seen in the narrative but even down to Reze's Bomb Girl outfit having a similar apron and gloves Asami had in Audition.

Gotta say Kosuke Yamada's cinematography for Shin Godzilla makes it one of the visually striking Kaiju films of all time! The sense of scale, horror, and awe is so powerful and is by far one of the film's strongest elements that sticks to my brain.
