From what I found on the 1998 ice storm, that was 1/2" ice. That storm had 400,000 people without power for days. We are expecting 3/4"? This is like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

The local TV guy has the freezing rain starting at 12 for roughly 9 hours (i.e. bad for Ricmond metro). I'm not a STWF but I suspect the reason for why the time is critical has to do with ice buildup on surfaces per hour. So when a report says to expect 3/4" ice. Is that what falls or buildup?

Oops, I think I got the colors wrong. Chesterfield is the purple zone (not pink).

So Chesterfield, VA and everyone else in the pink zone is iffy and time will tell. Could go either way.

Chesterfield + snow + ice + cold = stuck at home for 3 days and maybe some of that without power. Get your supplies. Fill up your gas tanks so you can run a vehicle to stay warm (outside only!)

Excellent. It's looking to be a good day for an AirShow. Hope to see you there and thank you personally for all the great videos (especially F14). Former Long Islander, with numerous ties to Grumman. Have been a big fan of the F14. So much I did not know. Now I'm a bigger fan thanks to your work.
