good question! idk, but I just starting using both -

using ollama to generate meta data about my project for cursor ai’s to use for context

with that in place, now thinking about using ollama as a PR reviewer

Going to see how I might include dynamic/regenerated content in a project level rule.

My meta data rollup will be regenerated frequently, and I’m thinking that content might be appropriate for a project level rule… not sure.

Finished the meta data script. I like the output. Will take a few sessions to see if it helps the AI or not.

The idea originated as comments in every file and morphed into meta.yaml’s in every dir with a rollup in the project root and includes Ollama’s improvement rec’s. It’s an AI PR reviewer!

My current cursor rules are my first stab at using them, not sure if I’m doing it right. I have high level sw eng best practices stuff in the all-projects rule and kinda similar, but more specific, best practice stuff in 1 project level rule. Seems to help a little, but, maybe there’s better uses?

Sonnet is hallucinating dirs and files that don’t exist and showing me it thinks dirs serve different purposes than they do. I’m going to write a script that uses ollama to generate metadata files for every directory in my project. I am hoping this will help both AI and I with context.

How is this achieved? Via prompting in Composer, cursor rules or something else?

I just got started with Cursor recently and quickly realized how much discipline is required. I added cursor rules built out docs and tasks to keep myself and the AI on task. Still spinning out on dumb stuff, but, can get back on track easier. Also, do TDD, make small changes, and lean into git.
