Due to "insufficient review". I haven't read the papers, but I would be somewhat miffed as an author for a retraction on that basis. I would hope for at least a right to reply and present the biological rationale that is now deemed missing.

Visited Durham yesterday. Really beautiful, lovely river, amazing cathedral. But the abiding impression is physical, etched into my legs with every step. How can one town have so much hill?

Amazing meeting on immunogenetics today. Since wonderful talks, but a particular highlight was hearing from Walter Bodmer about the MHC, including devising its systematic nomenclature, the learning of which tortured me during my PhD!
