None of the bosses so far in the DLC have done that thing base game bosses did where you empty their entire health bar and then Surprise! They get it all back for phase 2!

Okay am i missing something? There's a tough as balls miniboss in the 3rd area that can 3 shot me and there's an unusually loooong run back past tons of enemies to try again.
Is there a shotcut i didn't find or something? This is so out of character for this game
