All light crude oil refining produces excess naphtha, including US oil reserves. It's extremely volatile and costly to stockpile. Venezuela produces heavy crude, requiring naphtha dilution to make gasoline. Venezuela was a crucial outlet for America's excess naphtha production. Emphasis on "was".

We'll never figure out why he threatened to make Canada the 51st state...

Kills poor people, pardons rich people. Believing drugs have anything to do with it IS the drug.

I say this only to point out just how deeply rooted the issue is among Republicans. Prior to the 2016 election, Trump had been outed as a undeniable womanizer, with the "grab'em by the *****" recording. Compared to Romney in 2012, Trump only lost 2% of female voters in 2016. One in 50. Look it up.

How can congress vote to enrich themselves by stealing from the American people? Tradition mostly.

Say Trump has learned nothing from Nov 4th without saying Trump has learned nothing from Nov 4th...

Good news is that Geoffrey means God brother and Chown is a Unix term for change of ownership. Slay.

Hold my beer. Geoff is the original spelling and obv I'm not Chinese, Chown is from the English village of Beer. Look it up. Yeah it kinda sucks, not a kms thing though.

I vote we designate an island group to be a permanent sanctuary for the top 1%. I nominate the Maldives.

It's as if people having money to buy things regardless of the labour market helps the economy. Go figure.

And that's despite a slowing of GDP growth post-pandemic, currently down to 1% growth. For some reason nobody is talking about this. By comparison the US net debt/GDP is est. 83%.

Canada may have accidentally proven the economic viability of UBI. During the pandemic, there were several stimulus benefits so people could stay at home. Prior to the pandemic our net debt/GDP was 38%, and during the pandemic it jumped to 69%, but it rapidly dropped, currently est. 8-12.5%

My dad is a Gemini cusping on Cancer, so he's chatty and clingy. Nothing gets him to start rapid-firing unprompted long-winded conversation more than me saying "sorry Dad I've gotta get going"

Most premiers are conservatives, and most political journalists work for PostMedia, so nothing about this correlates to facts, cogent economics, or the will of the citizenry. You might as well say most car salesmen say you should get a new car.

So grateful for the NRA's trenchant campaigns for decades pledging to stand up against tyranny by the government, coming in so handy right now

I live 10 miles from the US in Canada, deeply concerned about the impending outpouring of Americans fleeing to Canada to avoid ICE, as well as my loved ones living in the US. Canada would welcome you, but it could be overwhelming, i.e. Gander 9/11. No disrespect to Mr Takei, who I greatly admire ☮️

I was on a Delta 767, air conditioner caught fire shortly after takeoff. We returned to Atlanta, waited at the same gate as the next flight to Toronto, chatting with fellow Canadians. Some offered to swap seats, Delta wouldn't allow it. They made us wait for repairs and take the same plane. Total BS

I'm sorry, he's spending $16.2B to disappear as many of his political adversaries as possible prior to the midterms, and y'all are concerned about gerrymandering? Wake tf up, he's not giving up control of congress or the senate no matter how the midterms go. Look at the judiciary ffs.

Curious how much that's affecting the Mayan Riviera. That's an enormous tourist economy that isn't really displacing anything significant outside Cancun and Playa Del Carmen that I know of.

Centrism as I know it is moderation. If a centrist succeeds in fighting for a fascist to relent on part of their agenda, then that's a win. Other centrists will fight for other aspects. Engaging them is an important part of how peace is secured without firing a shot. Can you tell I'm Canadian yet?
June 25, 2025 at 5:54 AM
Apologies, it dawns on me that you might not realize "centrism" has no brand, while left and right wings are only brands. There is no "leftism", only liberals, democrats, etc. There is no "rightism", only conservatives, republicans, etc. When you say "centrism" you refer to all unbranded centrists.
June 25, 2025 at 5:41 AM
Wow, you're not above flagrant false dichotomies? The only things a centrist can be between are democracy and oligarchy?I'm not even a centrist, I just know not to paint them all with the same brush. You would do to "centrist" what they did to "socialist"?
