if leftist parties across the West fail to shake off the shackles of capitalist realism, they'll go down with the ship. if they're able to chart a new course, with new leadership and uncompromising ideas, they can win.

that's what Mamdani did. that's what Polanski's doing. that's why they're succeeding, and that's how we can win.

reject the far-right's narratives outright. don't play on their terms. relentlessly reach out to young people through social media, and tell them why and how they can have a good future.

when no one can get a job, when no one can even dream of owning a house, when corporations control the government and the economy only ever becomes more brutal...

you just have to show them it can be different, with passion and conviction.

they just want to have real, tangible hope for the future.

i also think the "C style" is much more fitting for a language that aims to combine high-level expressiveness and low-level control. a Lua-style syntax might give the impression of it being more of a scripting language, when its big claim to fame is competing with C in terms of performance

nooo its peak... imo Rust can be REALLY nice to write and read compared to C/C++, even with all the lifetime annotations and type specifiers

the complexity is necessary for the amount of granular information in the code imo, and the syntax is very flexible once you really learn it
