Forgive my ignorance, but I don't understand what the best path is, aside from removing the stupid tariffs.

So inflation is high due to these tariffs/taxes, not due to excess liquidity in the system. I get that excess liquidity typically leads to higher profits, more risk taking, etc. and raising fed rates helps mitigate that. But with the tariffs there isn't excess cash in the system to be absorbed.
