I miss when Cliffnotes and Wikipedia were the worst thing that teachers had to worry about.

The head of state is purely symbolic (in fact there are presidential Parliaments just like that).

at least that's my take on it.

I've been thinking out it for a while, but I think the US should move to a Parliamentary system. You don't need checks and balances when your political system doesn't resolve around a singular person.

tl;dr in a Parliament, you're basically voting party over an individual.
