I don't know about the rotary file, figured our belt/disc sander does that job for us. Almost got a planer when buying a bunch of Ryobi cordless items as a bundle. Still might.

Home Depot had specials on Ryobi cordless tools, buy batteries and get the tools free. Picked up a bunch of tools that we use fairly often, cordless made them MUCH easier than corded. I didn't pick up the multi-tool as I wasn't sure what I'd use it for.

Eric and I bought Makita 18v cordless drills when we were building community theatre play sets. I even brought mine in when the shop I was working at re-roofed the 10,000 sq ft metal building (and they dropped one off the roof...) they've been wonderful.
