One of the primary challenges of the modern political era is effectively capturing and maintaining the public’s attention. A national action solely focused on healthcare and the Epstein files- 2 issues linked forever bc of the govt shutdown-could focus the nation’s attention on winning issues. 4/4

By focusing the next national action on releasing the Epstein files and funding the ACA, we would be able to combine the democrats’ strongest issue with Trump’s biggest liability and potentially the only liability that could affect his support amongst his base. 3/

#nokings was important because it showed the size and commitment of the opposition to the authoritarian, oligarchic takeover of American life. Now we should move to the next phase. Capturing the attention of the American public on winning issues. 2/

And based on what I am seeing in terms of the pop-ups every weekend and the organizing happening, a movement has started and we can flip it. We just need your help. @aoc.bsky.social @sanders.senate.gov @governorwalz.mn.gov

But we often feel that folks forget about us in rural areas. Even in statewide conversations. We need your help to start the fire. We have working class solidarity here @aoc.bsky.social @sanders.senate.gov @governorwalz.mn.gov

We stand by our prison guards, teachers, tribal employees, and nurses.

People are upset about Medicaid, the treatment of our Canadian neighbors, tariffs, threats to tribal sovereignty, Veterans, and these cuts that are hurting working class families and the programs in our community. As Yoopers, we stand by our neighbors and don’t do cruelty.

I live in a working class town of 13,000 people. We had 250 people at the April 5 protest and we did have people who voted for Trump. There were protests in Houghton, TC, Iron Mountain, Escanaba, Iron Wood, and the Soo. They were huge. This is unprecedented amongst our working class community.

I live in MI-1. Trump carried this district by 21 percentage points. But right now, we are seeing a major turn. We live on the border with Canada and I live in a town where it was not uncommon to see Trump signs and Pro-Nurses union signs in the same yard. Something is happening here.

We are hosting a community townhall on April 24th at 6 PM here in Sault Ste. Marie right on the Canadian border. We would love to host you!
