In world history,
Where men warmed themselves
To survive one day.
This harmony of enemies.

…Amongst this wreckage,
Singing in duo,
A bagpipe and a voice,
Illuminated
By an invisible fire.
Men’s silhouettes
Drew near to the music,
Like sparks of fire
In a frozen snow…

Around the invisible fire
That day
It was cold,
Glacial,
A chill to die.
The soldier felt nothing.
A silent cry
In slow motion.
His heavy weapon,
A numbing weight.
A cracked mouth
And a taste too dry…
